Privacy, in language you can actually check
You are handing us your study material, so you deserve to know exactly what happens to it.
What we collect
We collect as little as we can get away with. To make UpSolo work we need your email address, the YouTube links you paste, and the study material you generate from them — summaries, cards, notes, chat history.
We do not collect your YouTube watch history, your Google account contacts, or anything from tabs you have open that you did not hand to us.
How we use it
Your material is used to run the product for you: pulling a transcript, generating a summary, scheduling your review. We use aggregate, de-identified usage counts to understand which tools earn their place.
We do not sell your data, and we do not train models on your private notes. If that ever changes, it changes with an email first and a choice, not a footnote.
Third parties
A short list of services do specific jobs for us: hosting, transactional email, error reporting, and the language model that produces summaries and answers. Each receives only the data needed for its job, and none receives it for their own purposes.
Your choices
Deletion is real deletion: your content leaves our live systems immediately and our backups within thirty days.
The Chrome extension
When the extension ships it will read the page you are on only while you have the UpSolo panel open, and only to find the transcript and the current timestamp. It will not run on non-YouTube pages.
Changes to this policy
If we make a change that affects what we collect or how we use it, we will email everyone with an account before it takes effect, and note the change at the top of this page.
